Bukin and the others are captured. Meanwhile at North Wind's castle, Bigby beings getting violent with the other three Winds. Bufkin manages to convince the unhappy monsters to join the revolution. The Winds create an evil plan. Nurse Spratt discovers that Mr. Holt has a magical sword, the Eastermark Blade. At a meeting to gain allies, Bufkin is captured by the Empire's flying monkeys. Winter is separated from the other wolf cubs during another race, she finds the magical box that killed North Wind and Mr. Dark.
